COMBATTING THE FENTANYL CRISIS
- Legislation signed into law to improve drug overdose tracking and lifesaving response
- Legislation signed into law to mandate fentanyl testing in hospital settings
- Legislation passed the Senate to create tougher penalties for fentanyl dealers (Tyler’s Law)
PROTECTING FIRST RESPONDERS AND TOW TRUCK OPERATORS
- Legislation signed into law to toughen penalties for those who do not move over on highways when an emergency is on the shoulder (Slow down. Move Over).
- Legislation signed into law to allow tow trucks to use blue lights to alert oncoming traffic. Introduced a bill that was passed in the Senate aimed at increasing the number of volunteer firefighters in Pennsylvania by reforming the certification process.
PRESERVING FARMLAND
- In April 2024 Senator Mastriano announced $1.3 Million to Preserve 520 Acres of Farmland in Adams & Franklin Counties.
- Mastriano introduced legislation that would expand Pennsylvania’s successful Agriculture Conservation Easement Purchase Program
- Mastriano’s proposal also would expand eligibility for the program to enable smaller farms to participate.
